Today for lunch Tina and I went to Corner Bakery at the Commons and guess who we saw?  Howie Mandel – the guy on Deal or No Deal.  Pretty funny.

As we walked into Corner Bakery this guy in work out clothes was passing by us and he said Hi.  I kinda just said Hi and went to get my order from the pick up section.  Tina  SWORE it was Denzel Washington… I didn’t know b/c I didn’t even look.  I just said hi and walked to get my food. ahahaha  I wonder if it was him?  That would have been 2 for 2!

8/27/10 – Friday after work I was totally done with work.

Got home and low and behold ANTS!!! YIKES! They got into nuggets food bin somehow and told all their friends to come join the buffet… it was outta control.  I totally went into OCD mode and annihilated them.  Ona and I had to go get new food and anew bin since I think the old bin couldn’t close properly anymore.  We also went to this Chinese / Vietnamese place which was perfect for me b/c I wanted soup to help me hurry up and get better.

After that we went back home to finish up cleaning the aftermath of the ant attack.  I was pretty much beat after that but I still managed to Nad my pits!  WHOOO HOO me!  I felt soo great after b/c it was such a clean rip. ahahaha.

8/28/10- Saturday Morning woke up at 7AM to feed nuggs and get ready.  I had to take my car in to get 4 new tires.  Lame.  But had to be done.  Safety first.  While I was getting my tires on.  Ona and I went to our favorite breakfast spot – Cocos.  Had breakfast then he dropped me back off to pick up my car.  Stopped at Target to get M&M a b-day card and also picked up something for Andrew too. LOL.  After that met ona back at home and headed on our Metro Adventure. I convinced Ona top catch the Orange line to the red line to LA Live for M&M’s 30th b-day lunch celebration.  The Orange Line was cool until it got crowded.  Ona wasn’t a happy camper since some fruit had his butt in his face. LOL.

 Lunch was great.  Got to catch up witheveryone.  Got to spend some QT with my godson.  ohh he’s growing up so fast! We also went to Lucky Strike right next door and played a game of bowling.  Before we left the house to go to LA Live Ona and I had a little wager for bowling.  If I won, he’d have to do thelaundry and dishes for one week.  If he won, I’d have to dust and vacuum for one week.  It was a pretty close game and I lost by 1 point!  I was so bummed!  But a wager is a wager.. I’m going to start manana. We also did boys against girls and we totally kicked their butt!  Kara and Kim we’re killing the scores.  After bowling we all parted ways.  Ona convinced Ta-wieener to give us a ride home. LOL he’s so funny.  Also, KaRo’splans with their cousins fell through and the decided to hang out with us.  what a treat!  We all went to KB & Stac’shouse to watch the BJ Penn fight which sucked.  But the Jose’s and Cruz’s were there with the kids so we got to hang out with them.  It was fun.

8/29/10- Sunday woke up tired but cozy since the weather cooled down drastically.  We skipped church today to catch up on our sleep.  Got up around 11 and did a costco run.  Came back home and puyt everything away and chilled for a bit.  Ona took a nap and i went through my sunday coupons.  We decided last minute like around 4pm to head to SM promenade! ahahaI haven’t been there in such a long time and Tina (my co-worker) told me about how they re-did the SM mall.  It’s like the SD mall – all outdoorsy like.  We also decided to bring nugget with us so he could get out too for once.  He had a good time.  Everyone was checking him out and petting him which of course he loved to death. LOL. what a ham.  This one guy said if you didn’t see his face you’d think nugget was a pig! ahahaha super funny!  We had dinner at hooters since there was patio seating and nugget could chill on the side. Everyone that walked by totally loved nugget ahahaha.

The second one is my favorite.. it just makes me laugh… he was in the middle of a yawn and I took the pic. By the 3rd pic he was already annoyed with me calling his name to look at me for a picture. LOL what a guy.  We got Sundaes from McDonalds and then went home.  I gave nuggs a bath an d now he’s snoring like an old man.  I went for a 2 mile run on the treadmill.  Very hard but do-able.  I walked a bit… but for the most part I ran.  I’m at a 15 min mile.. WOW.. super slow. I’ll get there. My goal is to be in the 12 min mile group.  Ahhh more running.

Overall I had a fantastic weekend with great people.  Everything was perfect.  The weather was super awesome and trhe weekend wasn’t too hectic with things to do.

Can’t wait for this weekendto come up.. it Labor Day Weekend and we are packed with things to do.  Better get some sleep to prep me for this work week.

Muffles and her hubby was born on the same day in the same year!  Isn’t that a ka-winkie-dink!  Hope you guys had a great 30th b-day.

I woke up with a sore throat.  We had our AC redirected to the master bedroom and I think the AC was blowing too much on my face.  Both Ona and I woke up with sore throats.  I was over… Called in sick and slept all day. woke up at 11pm to shower, play some word with friends and then go back to sleep. LOL.  I totally missed going to Don Antonios for muffles b-day thingy.  Good thing she has another thing on Saturday.  Hopefully I get better to go.

Poor Ona-ting!  He ate something bad yesterday and wasn’t feeling well.  Then today he went home early form work b/c he’s coming down with a cold.  Poor guy!  I wonder what’s causing it?  Maybe lack of sleep? rapid change in weather?  who knows… hope you feel better Ona-na-mon!

So yeah… the Dockweiler 5K is coming up soon and I SUCK at running…I can’t even do a full mile without having to walk in between.I’m kinda worried I’m going to get my a$$ handed to me at the 5K.  I ran on Saturday and my left ankle totally wigged out… I couldn’t run.  I had to walk at in incline to keep the momentum.  After I got off the treadmill i was limping. Yikes!  I could not walk on it b/c it was so stiff.  I tried again last nite and it was ok still felt a little funky but I pushed through it.  I really hope its gets normal asap. I’m not nearly on track in running where I should be if I want to do decent for this race.

The weekend finally came after a long and rough work week.  I couldn’t believe how crazy work was.  Every week seems to become more and more insane!

Friday 8/20/10- Did absolutely nothing. ahahaha  Ona and I bummed it.  Even did a late donut run which was pretty good. 

Saturday 8/21/10- Woke up and went to my routine dentist appointment.  Came home top pick up Ona and we went to Coco’s for our usual breakfast.  After that we went home.  We kicked it all day at home.  He worked and I watched a Beyonce marathon on fuse.  ahahaha I got to catch up with all of her videos.  I also did a mile run / walk.  My ankle was feeling funky so i had to switch it up a bit.  Ona napped a bit.  Then later on we went to Edo Sushi on ventura.  I wanted to “try” incorporating soy into my diet again slowly.  I don’t want to completely remove it from my body.  I didn’t have a reaction!  WHOOO WHOO! so I’ve decided only to eat soy in moderation.  That is key here.

Sunday 8/22/10- Slept in and thank god nuggie slept in too… well i got up at 7 am to feed him and i went back to sleep ans so did nuggs after he ate LOL what a fat boy!  Woke back up around 9:30 to walk nuggs.  Then got ready for church.  Went to pray for Baby Dawg’s father and the usual family and friends I pray for every time I go to church.  After church Ona, Ty and I went to wingstop!  Oh man it was sooo yummers.  I’ve been on this breakfast and wing craving lately.  After that I dropped them both of at the parent’s house and i headed over to pick up Boontis.  I decided last minute to take her to Glen Ivy in Valencia for a preggo massage.  I wanted one too since i had a rough work week and what a perfect reason to go for the both of us.  We got there and Stac told me it was her first time ever getting a massage!  I was like WHAT? ahahah ohh man.. I was nervous now b/c I wanted her 1st experience to be BOMB… so I just hoped for the best that it went well.  Glen Ivy didn’t have a milk bath for preggo mom’s to do before they get a massage like they did at Burke Williams… so I added this scalp oil treatment to our package since I know Boontis loves her hair stroked / head rub.  When she came out from her massage she looked lost and confused ahahaha it was super funny b/c he hair was all over the place… I asked her how it went and she liked it!  We debated whether or not to rinse our oily hair and she talked me into waiting until I got home to wash it out.  So we put on these funny shower caps and showered.  After that we went to this Argentinian place next door for tapas.  It was good.  We got the Bruschetta! ahahaha super funny b/c that was a nick name I used to call her.  After that we headed home.  Dropped her off then went to pick up Ona and went home.

Weekends go by so fast but i’m glad this one didn’t as fast as they usually do.  I feel rested and relaxed…. I’m ready for another work week.  Monday here I come.

So my cousin Anh Viet sent me some pictures from the funeral…. I didn’t realize they were attached to the email until today.

The left is the memorial and the right are my aunties.. well I don’t know any of them except the one in the middle.  She’s Bac Van – my mom’s older sister.  She’s awesome.  She took us around the whole tie we were there in Vietnam.  We call her the sweet and spicy one since she’s can be either super sweet or really bossy ahahah its hella funny.  She’s like the life of the show there.  She always goes and gets her hair curled ahahah its freaken awesome.

The left here is my cousin Anh Viet and the right is his son.  I’m so bad.. I forgot his name?! but he’s super sweet.   My cousin Anh Viet hung out with us the whole time we were there… really nice dude although we really didn’t talk much until the later part of my stay.  His dad Bac Thang is the one who passed away from lung cancer and a brain tumor.  Really sad but he is definitely at peace now.

Saturday 8/14/10- Woke up  made breakfast for ona and I.  Then we biked to target with our cool new bikes. LOL.  I went to get cousin a baby shower gift before her shower later that day at Muffle’s house.   It was super nice to get to see my fantas!  I miss them so much.  I also got to spend QT with my godson D’shawn, Shawny, d-rew, Duh-Ru, Andy,  – Andrew. LOL.  I can’t seem to figure out what name I want to call him.  But I do want to participate in him learning his names first so no nicknames just yet LOL. After the baby showe ri met ona at home and we went to watch Inception…pretty trippy movie man.  we got our usual popcorn with nacho & ranch seasonings which was super yummy!!  Man I love the winnetka movie theaters!

Sunday 8/15/10- Happy 52nd B-day daddy! Ona and I went to church.  The Magcase fam was there too (except KB, Stac and Ike).  Ike went to vegas and KB & Stac usually don’t go to church.  After church we went to Albertos which just opened up in the valley!  Prreety dope b/c now we don’t have to travel to SD for carne asada fries. WHOOOT WHOOT!  After that Ona and I headed to LA to spend time with my dad.  He was sleeping when we got there so we decided to go to the westsiiiiiieeed mall.  Dude haven’t been there in ages!!  We just walked around and randomly we walked into a jewelry store and I walked out with some preeety nice studs… thanks Ona! ahaha it was funny b/c the lady selling them to us was like is it your b-day? ahaha I was confused and was wondering why she asked me that and then I got it… ahahah  I LA LA LOVE my studs!!  I’ve been wanting some for a long time now… Ona said I had graduated from Icing / Claires ahahahaha super funny.

After the mall we headed to my parent’s house to pick them up.  We all got in one car and went to Woodranch at the grove.  My dad loves steaks.  Ona was really observant on that one so good choice babe!  Everyone was kinda full so we shared stuff.  It was a good dinner. After that we went to coffee bean to get a drink for my mom and also get validation.  Then we went home for cake.  Here are some of those pics from my parents house:

The cake pic looks like a cluster  of clowns… ahah pretty crazy looking… of course my brother picked it out. LOL.  We hung out with my parents after and really got to spend quality time with them.  It was nice.  I really enjoyed it.  Then Ona and I headed home to relieve nuggie.

Monday 8/16/10 – Work was crazy… Brad came back from vacation and everything straight hit the roof… I dunno what happened… Also some mini drama about planning things happened but I think its squashed  Met up with Jonas’ mom for lunch at coco’s.. it was like spur of the moment but it was fun!

Tuesday 8/17/10- Work was crazy again.  I was starving when I got off work so ona and I went to coco’s for dinner! ahahaha I’ve been in this breakfast mood lately…. I totally wolfed down my meal last nite.  it was super good.  Then after we went to coldstone b/c ona had a “pang umi” (I don’t know if I spelled that right) after we walked over to old navy and got some tanks for me and shirts for Ona. ewnt home and ran 1 mile.  Boy am I outta shape.. I think ima die on the 5K.

Wednesday 8/18/10- Worked from home. Ona stayed home today so I wanted to stay home too.  Dropped my car off at firestone to fet an oil change and now i have all these additional things i need to get done.. and on top of that my tires!!!  I have to get new tires.. WTF? WHY?  well I guess its important to change them b/c I don’t want to be like those folks on the fwy when their tires blow up. I’m going to look around. Lame man.  Ona and I went to Fry’s  and he got me a rolling laptop case.  I really need one b/c I notice that I’m leaning to the left a lot more… ahaha my laptop case is heavy and I carry it on my right which makes me lean to the left.  We went home and ordered wings from Pizza Hut.  It’s $0.50 cent wing day at Pizza Hut.  Now I’m chilling waiting for my car to be ready.

Monday 8/9/10 - Day 1 without Brad… not so bad… ahaha hey I could be a rapper.  Anyway went to the bathroom at work and totally farted… it sounded like a DUCK!!! AHAHAH i started cracking up in the stall by myself.  Thanks goodness no on was there to hear it or they’d be in for a treat! Jonas’ mom stopped by the house also to drop off a card for my family… that was really sweet of her.  I didn’t get to see her b/c I got home so late but it was the thought that counts.  I just mailed it to my parents house b/c I’m not going to see them until Sunday.

Tuesday 8/10/10- Happy 31st b-day Rachele!! I found out she can sing so I’m dying to hear a lil sample!

Wednesday 8/11/10- Went to C&Os for The Malonzo’s b-day Celebration.  Haven’t been to C&Os in a hot minute.  It weas cool b/c we got to catch up with The Malonzo’sand also got to see the Diaz’s.  They are both totally skinny mini’s man.  They definitely look great.  The Lonotok’s couldn’t make it b/c of work and family from out of town visiting.  I saw an old HS friend Larnie ahaha which was pretty cool too.  Ja’s bff was there James.  I didn’t remember his name but I did remember his face from their wedding.  He’s a pretty funny guy.  He had a couple of mojitos and was just a chattin away… he started talking to me and it turns out he went on a blind date with Rosie a couple of years back… actually 1.5 yrs to be exact.  He was hella buzzing and he told me that they went on one date and that was it… she never called him or returned his call LOL.. he was like “what did i do?”  “Am I a jerk?” ahahah he was super funny about it and of course I egged him on to text her… so he did… he texted “hey girl, what happened?” AHAHAHAH we were cracken up… it gets better… Rosie doesn’t recognize the number and she responds ” I think you have the wrong #” AHAHAHAHAH James was like “OHHH wow so I’m that forgettable?”  So he kept going on about how it was just abruptly nothing and that “he wanted to know” ahahaha… Malonzo took a pic of him a lil smashed faced and sent it to Rosie… with the question “he wants to know what happened?” AHAHAHAH the pic was awesome.. he had the peace sign and you could tell he was tips… Ona kept shaking his head at me that I was messed up for egging him on… turns out Rosie did remember who James was and said something along the lines of being down to ice skate… so basically down for round two of dating! ahahaha.  James = what a guy.

Thursday 8/12/10- Happy 30th b-day Malonzo and 3rd B-day Nugget!!  Today I knew work was going to be insane… everyone’s deliverables were due to me and on top of that JB (the big wig) was asking me to help him on stuff… of course I wanted to look good and do my best to show that I am capable of handling things for him so I did that first and it took me literally ALL DAY.  I ran to Ralphs real quick after work to pick up doggie ice cream for nugget.  I met ona and Nugget at home so we could do treats and presents with nuggs.  He was very excited and happy for all the gifts and treats.  He’s got a new kong toy where you put treats in it and they have to figure out how to get the treats out of it… ahahah he got super frustrated and was barking at the toy like crazy.. and then he would come over to me and bark at me to go help him ahahah he did this back and forth barking between me and the toy  ahahaha from 6-midnight I think he only got 3 treats out of that kong toy ahahahah what a guy!  Overall I think he had a great 3rd b-day.

I was supposed to go to Timmy’s show but it got cancelled.  I felt bad b/c I know he and his band have been practicing for this even… Mo texted me that the owner of the venue decided not to have the show. So lame.

I worked until 1AM trying to knock out the deliverable due today… I didn’t make the 12PM EST deadline but I was just an hour late.  So I’m ok with that.

Friday 8/13/10- Attempted to wake up at 5:15AM with Ona so I can jump online for this 6AM training (gosh these east coast time zones really kill me) I woke up and I was dizzy so I decided not to attend.  I just slept in til my 8AM meeting.  Today is pretty chill and I’m happy b/c I busted my ass last nite to meet this deadline.  Monday Brad comes back from vacation and I’m sure he has a million and one emails.

Tomorrow is Cousin’s Baby Shower.  I’m gonna try and get a bike ride in before I go there. Sunday is my dad’s b-day… we’re gonna just make food at the house and chill there.

I’m ready for the weekend.  Ona just got home and I’m gonna go chill with him and catch up on Jersey Shore since i missed it last nite.  “GTL”, “Grenades” and “Landmines” AHAHAHAHA those guys are hilarious!

Friday – 8/6/10

Got off work and met Ona, Ty & J at Red Lobster for dinner.  After that went home to walk nugget and ran to Rite Aid to get some sale items.  Then I went home.  Ty, J and I went swimming.  It was fun.  We were doing all these contests.  Like who could swim the fastest, run the fastest  and who could do the most somersaults.  This was super hilarious.  Jarel did 7 in a row and then it was Ty’s turn.  He was like oh hell no I’m gonna beat jarel and he did 8. By the time he came up from the 8th one he was soo dizzy and out of breathe that we was dazed and confused I saw in his face so I reached out my arm to get him ahaha his faces was super funny!

After swimming we chilled and Timmy finally came over around midnight.  The boys hung out and Ona and I went to bed.

Saturday 8/7/10

Woke up pretty early and dropped nuggie off at day camp. Came back and the boys were ready to go to Six Flags.  We got there pretty early but there were tons of people already there.  We got in and Ty, J, Timmy and I rushed to the opposite side to get on Deja Vu.  OMG… i was sacred out of my pants… and rightfully so since that was indeed the scariest ride I’ve ever been on… we sat in the very front and the 1st drop down was seriously INSANE.  I’m too old for this stuff.  We were the only 4 on the ride so they wanted to get on again… I had to sit the 2nd one out b/c i was walking sideways with a headache.  I knew if I wanted to make it the rest of the day I would have to sit it out.  We also got on Tatsu which was cool.  Got on Deja Vu again and sat in the back and omg… I was dunzo… I felt like I had a hangover – dizzy with a pounding headache.  Then we ate and got on riddler’s revenge… after that I had to tap out.  The guys went on Goliath and then we decided to head home.  We stopped at El Presidente – this mexican restaurant.  After that I went home and packed / got ready to go to Irvine for Kara’s b-day..  I wanted to surprise her since I didn’t think I was going to be able to go.  I got to Yard house at the spectrum and she had no idea I was coming.  She was surprised and seemed happy so I was also happy to be there for her.

Sunday 8/8/10

Happy b-day Baby Dawg!! Thanks for letting me crash at your pad!  I love your bike and I’m glad you guys got bikes too!  Maybe one weekend we can bike at the beach or something.

I woke up around 8am and I was like man I’m tired.  ahahaha Went back to sleep and then Kara woke up around 9:30AM.  I got up as well and decided to get going so I could make it to church.  I prayed  for Kara since today is her b-day.  I also prayed for my families, friends, and my extended family.  I went to church solo today but I was glad I went.  After I got out of work I saw a missed call from my dad.  I called him back on my way to pick up nuggie from petsmart.  He shared with me some sad news that my uncle (my mom’s brother) passed away on Friday.  He was my uncle with the brain tumor.  He had lung and brain cancer and was going through chemo when I was there.  I knew it was going to be the first and last time I would ever see him.

It was such sad news b/c I had just prayed in church for him.  Another weird thing was that my cousin Chi Mai had just emailed me on Monday to say hi and catch up with me.  I wasn’t too clear ont he translation and I had a feeling someone wasn’t doing well.  So I asked Peapod to translate for me.  She said that my cousin only mentioned that my grandpa wasn’t doing well b/c he was getting older.  Little did she know that her dad was going to pass away.

After I picked up Nuggie I met Timmy at Old Navy and then we went home.  We called my mom’s family in Vietnam and it was super sad… my mom’s not doing to well.  She couldn’t even talk to her family at home.  My Dad had to talk.  My mom just listened.  Got to speak to my fav aunt Bac Van and my cousin Chi Mai.  She’s doing ok. Our family is preparing for the worst case scenario when my grandfather passes.  He’s not doing well.  There’s blood in his urine now and I think that’s a sign of either liver or kidney failure.  So anyway we’re preparing for the worse.  My mom is strong and she knows its a part of life..but at the same time its just sad to lose a family member.
